Dr. Darren Brown graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry in 2004. He is licensed and trained in the use of Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents and is certified by the National Board of Optometry in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease.
As a clinical investigator, Dr. Brown has conducted research for Vistakon and Advanced Medical Optics. He specializes in fitting a wide range of contact lenses, including orthokeratology, hybrid, and scleral lenses, and has recently focused much of his work on myopia control for younger patients. Dr. Brown has also assisted in LASIK procedures at leading surgical centers throughout the Western United States, allowing him to guide his patients through the most current refractive surgery options available. Outside the office, Dr. Brown stays active with working out and running, and he loves spending time cheering on his kids at their sports and activities. |

Dr. Sarah Onaga has been part of Old Town Tustin Eyecare since June 2017. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Irvine, and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry, graduating with Beta Sigma Kappa honors. She is glaucoma certified, allowing her to diagnose, manage, and treat the condition.
Her clinical externships included the University Eye Center in downtown Los Angeles (pediatrics, specialty contact lenses, and vision therapy), the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Las Vegas (ocular disease), HuHuKam Memorial Hospital in Arizona (ocular disease), and Ketchum Health Clinic in Anaheim (primary eye care). Dr. Onaga brings expertise in specialty contact lens fittings for keratoconus, pediatric examinations, glaucoma diagnosis and treatment, and diabetic eye exams. She is especially passionate about myopia control and early disease detection, and she genuinely enjoys getting to know her patients during visits. Outside the office, Dr. Onaga enjoys golfing and spending time at home with her two young sons, born in 2021 and 2024. |

Dr. Faria Islam’s journey into optometry began in Rancho Cucamonga, California, where she developed a strong sense of community, compassion, and dedication to helping others. Inspired by a passion for healthcare and patient connection, she pursued her education at the prestigious University of California, Berkeley Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry and Vision Science, one of the nation’s leading optometry programs. There, she received advanced clinical training and cultivated a patient-centered approach to vision care rooted in both excellence and empathy.
Outside of her professional accomplishments, Dr. Islam is deeply devoted to her family. She shares her life with her husband and their two sons, who continue to inspire her commitment to balance, compassion, and service both inside and outside the clinic. Whether caring for patients or spending time with loved ones, Dr. Islam values meaningful relationships and strives to make a positive impact in every aspect of her life. |
