Darren M. Brown,  O.D.

​Dr. Darren Brown graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry in 2004.

Licensed and trained in the use of Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents, Dr. Brown is certified by the National Board of Optometry in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease. A clinical investigator who has conducted research for Vistakon and Advanced Medical Optics, Dr. Brown specializes in fitting an array of contact lenses, including orthokeratology, hybrid, and scleral contact lens fits. He most recently has been working with the younger demographic for myopia control. 

​Having assisted in LASIK procedures at top surgical centers in the Western United States, Dr. Brown offers his patients their most up-to-date refractive surgical options.

   Susan S. Brown,  O.D.

​Dr. Susan Brown began working in various locations throughout Southern California after receiving her degree and joined her husband’s practice in 2010. She is certified in the treatment and management of eye diseases as well as fitting patients with the newest technology in contact lenses. She especially enjoys working with children to give them a thorough eye exam.
​
She met Dr. Darren Brown in optometry school and they have been married since 2007. During her free time she enjoys watching movies, cooking, and playing tennis.

Dr. Brown and her husband have a son who was born in 2011 and a daughter who was born in 2013.

Kim Uyen T. Coloma,  O.D.

Dr. Joy Coloma was born in Savannah, Georgia, and raised in Orange County since she was 2 1/2 years old. She attended the University of California, Irvine, where she received her bachelor’s degree in biology. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern California College of Optometry in 2004, along with classmates Drs. Darren and Susan Brown. She received her hands-on clinical training in externship programs at the VA Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii and Gallup Indian Medical Center in Gallup, New Mexico. Her vast practice experience includes working in group, solo and ophthalmological offices in Orange County and Inland Empire.

​Dr. Coloma loves spending time with her family: husband Darrell, sons Davis, Jackson, and daughter Presley. She enjoys hiking, traveling, baking, watching movies and dining.

        Sarah Onaga,  O.D.

 Dr. Sarah Onaga (previously Dr. Sarah Kim) joined Old Town Tustin Eyecare in June of 2017. She completed her undergraduate studies at University of California, Irvine and received her doctor of optometry degree at Southern California College of Optometry with Beta Sigma Kappa honors.  She is glaucoma certified to diagnose, manage and treat glaucoma.
 
She completed her externship training at the UECLA clinic in downtown Los Angeles (pediatric, specialty contacts and vision therapy), the Veterans Affair Hospital in Las Vegas (ocular disease), HuHuKam Indian Health Service Hospital in Arizona (ocular disease) and Ketchum Health Clinic in Anaheim (Primary Eye Care).
Her training includes specialty contact lenses (Keratoconus), pediatric examinations including myopia control, diagnoses and treatment of glaucoma as well as diabetic eye examinations.  

She has 2 boys born in 2021 and 2024.

​Optical Department
For those patients needing glasses or contact lenses, we offer a complete optical department. We carry a wide selection of high fashion eyewear and designer frames.

Comprehensive Vision and Eye Health Examinations
Regular eye exams are an invaluable tool in maintaining healthy eyes by detecting and preventing disease.  Some diseases develop slowly without causing pain or vision loss. Early detection of any problems can reduce the risk of further harm and allow for a choice of treatment options. The entire exam process can take an hour depending on the complexity of the problem. Each patient will be evaluated with a refraction, slit lamp, intraocular pressure and a retinal exam. 

Pediatric Eye Care
We take pride in maintaining the vision of our younger patients in an environment that is lighthearted and fun. We want to insure the good sight, vision, and eye health for the rest of your child's life and take a preventative approach to his/her general health and eye health. We will work with your child's primary care physician to help keep his/her eyes healthy. It is important that all of our pediatric patients have healthy and efficient visual systems to help make visual demands of learning in school easier and fun. 

Contact Lens Exams and Fittings 
Thanks to the advances in optical technology, almost everyone is a candidate for contact lens use. This includes patients with astigmatism and also those who prefer bifocal or multifocal lenses. At our office, we offer a comprehensive array of contact lenses to suit each individual patient's needs. We offer daily disposables, extended wear soft lenses to gas permeable contact lenses. We offer regular and custom lens services for both healthy and difficult to fit patients.

Specialty Contact Lenses
​We also provide the latest in contact lens technology for patients with keratoconus and difficult-to-fit corneas, including scleral, hybrid, orthokeratology, and myopia control contact lenses.  With more than a half-dozen fitting sets available in office, many fits can be made on your first visit, saving time and allowing patients to experience different options.
